This year’s Art of Wine is back on 25th September!

Simply the most unique and unmissable wine tasting event in NZ.

We bring together the visionary winemakers of tomorrow from 30 cutting-edge artisanal producers with more than 100 wines under one roof, surrounded by New Zealand’s single greatest art collection at Pah Homestead, James Wallace Arts Trust. It will be an all-encompassing cultural event attended by the country’s most prolific artists, musicians, media personalities, and you — the keen wine lovers, art aficionados and those who know how to celebrate life!

Tickets start at only $30/person which grants you access to all wines available at the event, and no token system!

While the 12-4pm session is open for Wine Trade, Art Curators and Media only, the public session starts at 5pm and lasts for 3.5 hours. Wine-lovers rejoice, for Hawke’s Bay Wine is coming to the City of Sails for one night only.

With 35 wineries presenting over 200 of their finest wines, this will be a true celebration of New Zealand’s most-loved wine region.

This exclusive evening will be a chance to get up close and personal with Hawke’s Bay’s talented winemakers and wine experts and wax lyrical about everything from tasting tips to what’s hot from upcoming vintages. Matakana Oyster & Wine Festival 2017 @ Matakana Country Park

Come to the Matakana Oyster & Wine Festival to taste and celebrate the peak of the local oyster season. Seven farmers from the Mahurangi Harbour will serve their plump delicious oysters accompanied by local wines, other seafood and cuisine.

The all-weather event will entertain with live music, shucking competition, cooking and wine demonstrations, face painting and craft table for the kids.

Hurry tickets are limited.

Adult tickets cost $35 including an event wine glass, first glass of wine or beer and 2 half shell oysters
Children (6 – 17 yrs old) tickets cost $15 including a non-alcoholic drink and 1 half shell oyster

City of Ales and SOBA (Society of Beer Advocates) present an all Auckland crafty showcase. Auckland’s Best Little Beer Festival is back and stronger than ever for 2017, an event not to be missed.

Showcasing the best of what Auckland has to offer, with over 24 individual beers matched with a fantastic tasty menu. For the first time in Auckland’s City of Ales history we are doing things a little different. Expect to be dazzled by Taite Prize finalists, Hopetoun Brown, who will be roaming the City of Ales Festival as you buzz from beer to beer. The Supergroove horn section will be stomping around with a very special guest, multi-instrumentalist Finn Scholes – arguably the finest trumpet player in the country.

Be sure to expect some off the wall beers alongside some of the crafty staples we all know and love.

Here we go again….

Judging this year will be held over the weekend of 4th-5th November. Entries will need to be submitted between 16-27 October. Entry fees have increased for the first time by $2 per beer to help cover the competition costs.

We have a new venue for the judging in 2017, huge thanks to Pacific Flavours in St Johns for their assistance.

Hello BEER LOVERS!

We would like invite you to our HOME BREW COMP 2017, taking place at the Piha Bowling Club on Saturday 11th November. Piha is not new to home brewing and we are looking to revive this event with gusto!

ENTERING THE COMPETITION: $10/entry
You can enter via our website by filling in the online entry form or downloading a hard copy of the form along with the competition details. Deadline for competition entries is Saturday 21st October.

PURCHASING A TASTING TICKET: $15/ticket
Tickets available from 1st October onwards. Tickets can be purchased via the bar (cash only) or on the day of the event at the gate. You will be given your beer tasting pack upon entry to the event.

Non beer tasters – we only request koha for entry and kids are free!
